Backstory: had a good child-hood. Learned to be an assassin because her mother was one. the first dragon she killed was her own mother (by this stage she was crazy). Use to wake her parents up in the middle of the night and freak them out because even then she did her spine-tingling scream.
Number of dragons assasinated: 142 (She's been doing this for a while...)
Scarab soared above the designated spot, watching the ground with narrowed eyes. She spotted a few, telltale songs of life, and spun to land with a heavy thud. She didn’t mind her position being known, it was more her style, being more of a mercenary then an assassin.
Grace softly approached the assasins, her scales camoflauged. She knew she'd have to declare herself, Souless, or 'Sin', was a renowned assasin, and would probably sense her presence. She turned her camoflage off and her scales turned their usual dark purple.
"I have arrived." She announced with a small smile.
Soulless stayed perfectly still. She was waiting for the final assassin, Fallen, one of the more crule dragons, killing the dragons who hire her. She looked around at the dragons that had arived only moving her eyes.
Darkside: female nightwing, with a trace of rainwing, good at her job. 40 dragons killed, both of her parents were assassins, she's a lone-wolf. Won't need much work.
Firewall: Male mudwing, more of a soldier that an assassin, though he's good at killing. Hasn't been sent on a job yet, he'll probably take a while to get use to the silent side of assassins. Probably will be a lone-wolf, doesn't look like he likes dragons company, but alo looks like he like's to get the job done right.
Grace: femal RainWing/NightWing hybrid (less nightwing than rainwing), generally keeps her scales dark, five dragons assassinated, one was personal. Can change colour to the same extent as a rainwing. can work with other dragons, though she is a lone-wolf. Queen Morhens personal assassin, well-trained.
Scarab: Female SnadWing, keeps to herself, 10 dragons assassinated. Definate lone-wolf, won't be a good team-worker. Used to be a soldier, good at open combat as well.
Fallen: Female NightWing, un-empathetic, does the job as quick as possible. lone-wolf.
Soulless smiled, showing all her sharp, white teeth. Yes, this was a good group.
"You ar some of the greatest assassins in pyrrhia, you are here for one reason. We will be the greatest assassins of all, no-one will know who you are, what you look like, or where you are. You will learn how to cover tracks and dissapear into nothing even in the brightest rooms. You will become the Assassin, the most feared, well-respected group of dragons in all of Pyrrhia! And I will help you do this."
Soulless pulled five black cloaks out.
"These are the sings of our assassins. And these-" Souless pulled five teeth out of her bag, in them carved 'The Assassin' in the old language. "-are our trade-marks."
"Oh! and i might as well mention, in between the layers of the cloak, there is a special flexable metal, extreamly rare, that is quite strong. Much better than armour, and it works the same!" Soulless said, a crazy kind of smile on her face as she sat on her hunched, tapping her front talons together.
"There's no... Job. You are here to learn how to be an assassin, a true assassin. If you were expecting a job, or pay, you were wrong. See, i am one of the best, why would i hire a bunch of ametures to do a job that i would clearly be ably to do much better than you all put together." Soulless hissed at the TempestWing.
Gravce nodded at Souless, following every word. Being an assasin was one of her skills, one she wanted to train. If Pyrrhia was the perfect world, she'd be an artist or an author, but alas, that was impossible. She shrugged this thought off.
Scarab took the tooth and slid it into the folds of her cloak. She didn’t care if the other cloaks had armor in them, her’s had too many pockets to counts, all filled with knives, coins, and other trinkets.
"These-" Sin clicked her fingers and six RainWings, all with black scales and a black cloak, appeared behind her. Seamingly from no-were.
"-Are my Helpers, your trainers. Each of you will be designated one, but for the first challenge, it is a test of team work. You must stay hidden until tomorrow at dusk. The time is 10pm right now. You have 23 hours. If you are caught, two weapons will be taken off you, less weapons for your next challenge. Remember, these dragons behind me are highly trained assassins, RainWings. Your senses must be to their full, my assassins show know mercy, and will not give you a single hint where they hid. Your time starts in one minute. You better get a move on." Soulless announced.
Grace flew off and reached a small thicket of trees. Hmm, it would probably be too obvious to hide in an area so small and in the middle of nowhere. She went into the trees and discovered it spreaded out to a dark, eerie forest(a different one to the one that Darkside is in). She swiftly flew up into a tall tree that had a fair amount of leaves. She changed her colours and slowly went invisible. She suddenly remembered the cloak and tooth she was wearing, it would be a give away. She striped the cloak off her back and hid it in the leaves. She looked at the tooth, which was bright white and easily seeable in the darkness. She decided to place the tooth in her mouth, while it was quite disgusting,it was safe.
Shockswift reaches the cave system and goes into it. Upon finding a large pile of rocks, she starts to make smaller piles in different parts of the cave, then she starts to look for a hiding place. Hmm...that'll do. she flies up to a hole in the top of the cave and goes through it. It opens out into a small space with a small ledge on the side.I wonder if anyone has had to hide here before.
Soulless turned to her assassins as the last of the six dragons dissapeared into the night.
"Graceless, Disdain, Maladroit, Inelegant, Horror, Shock." She spoke to the assassins behind her, who's heads quickly wipped towards her.
"If you find them, heard them together, make them work together. This is a test of team-work - they heard me say it - force them to work together before you catch them." She spoke without looking at the assassins. She looked over her shoulder, the six of them nodded.
"Go" She watched from the corner of her eye as the six assassins dissapeared - camoflaged. She felt the slight breeze of their wings as they took off. The first test had begun.
Scarab closed her wings to spiral to the ground. She landed in a thicket of thorns. She pulled her cloak over her scales, hiding the tan color that would give her away. Only her dark eyes were visible in the thorns and leaves. A trickle of blood dropped down her snout.
Grace didn't let herself sleep, he ears pricked at the slightest of noise. She wondered what Souless had meant by 'teamwork', were her and the other assassins meant to work together? She thought a moment longer, Souless didn't say anything about hiding from the other assassins...yes, working together was probably how to win. She decided not to move unless she had to, not when she was being hunted.
(I'm playing the six assassins for now (Sin's assassins), that'll change later)
Shock flew low ofver the forest, invisible. He jumped into a near-by tree, making no sound. He was looking for the RainWing, she had flown off in this direction... A slight scrape of the claw against tree bark made his attention snap to focuse on a branch. He moved his position slightly, checked his camoflague, and looked up.
Ahh, yes. There was a RainWing hiding there. She hadn't worried about someone benethe her. What a shame... He saw a cloak further up. Yes, this was her. Shock looked around, there was a hollow behind her, and a hollow at the bottome of the tree. He crawled inside, a plan forming in his mind.
(FYI, can everyones response be at least three sentances long (unless you'r answering a question a character asked)
(The leaves were meant to cover her completely and she is invisible but whatever)
Grace's ears detected noise, someone was climbing the tree. It wasn't one of the 'rookie' assassins, she had a hunch it was a mentor. Crap, they'd found her. She made sure she was invisible and slowly slipped out of the tree, making sure not to disturb the leaves. A few heartstopping moments later, she was out of the tree. She quietly flew above the tree tops, into the sky.
Grace flew, gliding above the trees (still invisible). She flew closer to the ground, wear the trees had thinned out. She saw a small thorn bush, just big enough to fit a dragon. The bush would be a good, but painful hideout, but what was most interesting was the two, dark eyes peering out of it.
Dark quietly jumped from branch to branch, trying to find the others. She suddenly heard the faint sound of wingbeats and her head snapped i that direction. She flicked her wings then curled them around her.
Shock heard the faint sound of a nitjar. It was a slightly longer call then the usual, only long enough that if you new what it was, you new who was calling. It was Graceless. Shock replied with the call of a Grass owl, slightly draged out. Graceless had found a dragon aswell, and she wasn't very far fromm him.
Firewall took a deep breath sunk into the mud, then swam out into the river and rinsed out his things We’re supposed to work together sooner or later, guess there’s no point in just sitting around in here then flew off toward a small forest that he had thought that one of the others had gone.(Darkside, was it?)
Dark suddenly spotted two eyes in a thorny bush. They couldn't be flying in a bush. There must be two. I bet one of them is the Rainwing. She thought, then dared to whisper, "Who's here?" She shifted her balance.
Dark spotted the Mudwing. She rolled her eyes silently and jumped silently down infront of him. Seeming to appear out of no where. "Hide, you salamander!" She whispered quietly and pulled him behind a tall bush. Then disapeared into the trees again.
Grace looked at the dragon in the bush and whispered to them,
"The mentors are coming. We need to work together, it's the aim of the game. You need a better hiding spot, this bush doesn't cut it, I can see your eyes. One of the mentors almkst found me, while I was invisible, hiding amongst the leaves of a tree. They'll find you...." She looked around and then at her talons, good she was still invisible.
Fallen sunk deeper into the shadows of the tree. She glanced around, and realzed that her chances of escape were thin. Deciding to leave to a better place, Fallen slunk across the underbrush making sure to avoid twigs, and other materials that would make a noise once stepped on.
Disdain, Maladroit and Horror glided through the tree tops.
"Most of them a rookies, what chance have they got? Why did Sin have to pick rookies?" Disdain complaied.
"Because. Sin has her reasons. She sees potential in them." Maladroit answered without looking her way.
"Ehe, they'll learn somethin' from us. It's always fun to teach." Horror replied, gliding lower.
"Now keep your mouths shut, their probably hiding here somewhere."
Inelegant creeped quietly, invisbly, into the cave system. This was a good hiding spot. she searched until there was nowhere left to search, besides the cavity in the roof. If someone was up there, she had to try and spook them out, to get the to the others. Yeesh, i don't like playing stupid, not being able to straight up find them. Its more of a challenge the other way.
She found a few bones, and pretended to 'trip' ofer them. Hissing and cursing, makeing any one who was possibly hiding here hear her.
Scarab glared at the RainWing. I don’t need your help. She thought, merely pulling the hood of the cloak over her eyes and closing them enough that she could just barely make out blurred shapes through her thick SandWing eyelashes.
"Grace is right." Dark whispered. "I get it. I hate working with others too. But i hate it more when there is a grumpy Sandwing working with me." She hissed. "And Soulless did say to work together, so....." She hissed quietly.
Fallen heard the sound of whispers. Travelling towards the sound she saw the feint silloutes of dragons. Going closer, Fallen reconized some from the mountain top. "Get a better hiding spot." She hissed, once closer. "You're too obvious."
Fallen nodded in understanding. "I'll go now to." Fallen took off, and hid on top of a thick tree branch. Her legs and underbelly covered by the branch, and the rest covered by the thick foliage above her.
The Nightwing nodded, taking into the sky. She flew high, then stayed there. Gliding. When she moved her wings there was no sound. Though the mentors wouldn't be up here, she still was aware. Her ears twitched constantly, listening for the sound of wing beats.
Grace was in the cave. She saw a small tunnel branching into the stone wall, so she silently slipped into it. She pressed her invisible scales against the wall and covered her mouth with her talon, silencing her breathing.
Graceless heard wingbeads, so she placed the dragonflame cactus down, struck a match and threw it to the line of oil on the ground, diving behind a tree. A loud explosion echoed through the forest. Yeesh, if that dosn't make them curious, i don't know what will.
Fallen startled at the line of explosions scarily close to where she was. Fallen silently left her hiding spot, and crept away from the source of explosions. If there was one thing she learned from her many assasinations it was to stay away from the spotlight, and the explosion was probably heard throughout the forest. Being arrested as a terriost wasn't on Fallen's list of things to do.
Firewall glanced around before landing in the forest. Fallen was there “Fallen” he hissed. “There’s about 100 dragons out there opt there looking for us. We’ve got two choices. Get out of here, or fight.”
Fallen turned at Firewall. "Since the point was to work together, I think for now we should find some of the others." She whispered back. Fallen glanced around trying to find a good escape route to leave in.
