Lets start when they are about three and start questioning things.
Palanti looked at the small village of Gamantala. The lively streets, the weekly festivals, all of the seawings and rainwings, and she still felt kind of empty. She didn't know why, but she didn't know the answer. Palanti didn't actually know much, being only three, and still was studying for school with flicker, her father.
Shiver tapped his talons on the floor, nodding his head to the rythem. His ears pricked up when he spotted his sister. He went and sat next to her. As Flicker, there dad, had been teaching her, his mom had been getting him ready for school. He never really liked it.
Palanti noticed her twin brother. She started speaking in their talon language, after seeing the seawings use their phosphors, they had decided to make a language. being fourbrids, as they were called, meant that they didn't have much from each tribe. None of them had any seawing features, except for small parts.
Palanti said, "hello. How is your tutoring going??"
(Its probably more rough than dragon speech, and not very precise, so they use a lot of words for the same thing. Like, school, teaching, university, and stuff would all count as tutoring)
PAlanti licked her scales free of debris, and splashed into the water, making dirt clouds drift up. She stayed perfectly still for a while, letting it settle, before screaming randomly and swimming away. (don't you love screaming underwater? )
Shiver laughed, and jumped in after his sister. He couldn't be seen underneath the water for a second, but then popped up in front of her and splashed her with his tail, laughing. Then, out of the corner of his eye, he caught a gleam.
Shiver's attenion turned to his sister again as a wave of water crashed onto him. His mane was in his face, and he whipped it back. Suddenly, he heard what seemed like a yelp, on the shore. "...Did you hear that?"
Shiver caught his attenion to a dragon, that was on the shore. He hadn't noticed them. It was a Swiftwing, around looking the same age as them. He tilted his head. They were drenched, there wet mane covering there face.
"No, you won't leave." Said Palanti hotly. She came over and tried to bite their tails to drag them pver, but then thought better of it. She instead put her head down and pushed them into the water. " you are coming! "
"Alright then." Shiver Storm nodded, before diving into the water with a splash. He was always a fast swimmer, and took him almost no time to hit the shore next to the cave where the family had been living for abit. He got out, gave his head a little shake, before getting out of the water, going towards the cave.
Shiver Storm opened his mouth, but before he could say anything, Flicker peeked from behind a tree with a thrashing fish in his talons. "That will make 6 fish then!" He laughed, before looking at Frost Lily and Shiver Storm. He slightly tilted his head.
"Well..." Shiver Storm started again. "Me and Palanti found a blind Swiftwing and a Trickwing that are about the same age as us on the island."
"She's watching them." Shiver Storm replied, even more nervously. He hated when his mom got mad. "We both agreed to that plan. I'm sure she could handle herself. The TrickWing is really the only one who could do her harm, but she would be able to handle it. Wouldn't she?"
Flicker gazed around, his tail flicking, and like he also seemed to do, his mane flickered a slight red. It was strange. But anytime he or Palanti tried to ask him about it, he would always change the subject. And when they asked there mom, she said it was just a Seawing thing, considering there father was half Seawing.
Shiver Storm nodded, turning around and walking to the edge of the lake, and then diving in, waiting for his mother to join him. When Flicker came into the water, he began swimming towards the shore where he had left his sister and the two other Dragonets.
Frost Lily swam beside him, slowing her pace so that he could keep up. He was still a dragonet, and even with his seawing heritage, she was faster than him. Palanti looked up at Shiver storm and winced when she saw their mother. She had watched the intruders, and they had waited without complaint.
The Trickwings ears perked up when he saw three dragons approaching from the water. He recognized one of them, one of the dragons who found him, and the other two were older. One was a Swiftwing, but his tail seemed bigger then a normal Swiftwings, and he had what looked like gills on his neck. His mane also seemed like it was... flickering.
There was another dragon, who he was sure was a hybrid.
Shiver Storm flicked his tail, getting up onto the shore. He looked at his sister, then there 'prisoners', before looking nervously at his mother.
"Who are you." Frost Lily said, not happily. She shook off the water from her head, New colors blazing through her scales, but revealing a huge black scar that ran across her side and part of her face. Frost Lily 's scales were black. They were always black, so it was shocking to see colors rolling through the darkness. Palanti looked in astonishment.
Wayward began opening his mouth, but stopped. "...Alright then. We'll leave." He finally said. Brushing Tiana's wing with his own, he led her to the trees, and Shiver Storm watched as they disappeared. He glanced at his sister.
Shiver Storm rolled his eyes. "Fine. I know there's no talking you out of this. That's the only reason why I'm coming." He used his tail to spell out a not to big message, but still bigger then a normal message.
"Well, we can try can't we!" Palanti teased. If this was truly an adventure then she should find her rucksack . She has always had one prepared for her and her brother. She fetched it from a nearby tree hollow . It contained good and blankets and ohpther potentially useful things.
Frost Lily looked behind her. Her children had not followed her. She sighed. They had been so rebellious, and yeyett frost Lily and her mate had kept them from venturing out at all. She supposed it was only fair. "Flicker. "
Frost lily's scales were blue, the color of acceptance. "We will only go after them after a week has passed."
Palanti knew well enough to keep quiet. she and her twin trusted each other so much that they usually didn't question about of the moment decisions. Palanti opened her piercing, heavily lined eyes, Same as her brother's, and began signalling with her talons.
