"You're right. We need to find a way." Stalker said. He was filled with a dire energy to protect them, to protect his family.
Polarize slowly nodded. "I think you're right. Yeah." She laid down, next to him. She was close to him, but not right next to him. It wasn't that late, but being, er, pregnant Made her sleepy. "Let's get some rest then." She still found herself hoping River wouldn't try anything, but she kinda trusted that he wouldn't. (*crosses fingers* something weird....plz...)(I am so messed up XD)
Selena nodded. "Me too." Suddenly, her eyes widened. "Wait... what if our dragonet has to get experimented and tested on? I think that was the point of the breeding program... to experiment with hybridization... But I could never let my dragonet live a life like that."
Selena nodded, closing her eyes in concentration. "We can try the cracked egg tactic, but there's a few problems. First of all, what do we use to fake the eggshells. I don't know if they'll test our eggshells to make sure they're real. Also, how do we smuggle the egg out? If we flew off the island with an egg, they'd probably notice something. I also don't know the procedure for leaving the island. Do they just let us fly off or do the guards check us before we leave?"
Seahorse put her forehead on the floor, whimpering. Something hurt. She collapsed onto her side, curling into a ball. She wanted to be left alone in this position, which was the least painful as she cramped horribly.
Seahorse moaned, placing her talons on her underbelly. "Pain," she gasped, shuddering again. Maybe the egg is coming? she thought worriedly. "I don't know." I don't know what happens! I've never seen an egg layed before!
Flames wasn't sure what to do. He had never been in the same room as a laying... Fudge. "Er, does this help?" He tried to rub parts of her stomach, ever so softly. "I-I..." He didn't know what to do. He stammered. "Er-"
Stalker slowly nodded as well. "Maybe it would be better if we got out before you laid it... Though that's probably soon." He sighed.
Seahorse paused convulsing, then resumed. "I'm pretty sure the egg is coming," she said between gasps, lashing her tail. "Isn't there a nursery area here?" She winced, and collapsed onto her side again. The egg is coming, she determined painfully.
Frost Lily smiled at the day. Suddenly, she felt a twinge in her lower belly. No! Not yet, she thought, It's too early! My mother said at least one more month!
Frost Lily was in the boughs of an aincent oak. She flew to the ground and layed behind the massive trunk. Nobody could see her except the ocean, and the ocean wouldn't tell anyone. The egg came, and it sat, glistening, in a small nest. It had been nearly two hours, the sun was up high.
The egg was very large, and was slightly translucent, like ice. It was speckled with blue dots that seemed to glow in the shadows of the leafy oak.
THen, she wrote a letter to her sister. The messenger dragon received it, puzzled. "You want me to take it where?"
" to The top of the icewing kingdom. The island at the top. "
Her sister, Glacier Lotus lived there. She could come to get the egg.
"I don't know-I'm sorry-" flames bit his cheek. He should've learned more... He shook his head to himself. "I can't-" he didn't know what to do. He shrugged, looking...shameful, sort of. He interlaced his claws with Seahorse's. He squeezed her Talon. There was nothing he could do but watch.
Seahorse growled to herself, pushing up onto her talons. She wanted to go somewhere protected. She looked at Flames, then began to make her way out of the door, her tail lashing behind her. She paused, gasping, then continued, until she reached the water's edge. She slowly walked in, and waded away towards a dark corner where no one would see her.
Seahorse was curled protectively around two eggs, one a dark purple, the other one a pale pink. She was breathing, exhausted, but pleased with herself.
Flames caught up with Seahorse. He looked at the eggs. He smiled. Then his smile broke for a second. "I'm sorry I couldn't help, really." He glanced at Seahorse. He held out a Talon to her for her to hold.
Stalker looked down. "I hope so. It'd make more sense if you asked, and we were together. That's what I think, at least. And we need to be fast. I bet you'll lay soon..." He looked at her stomach, then back at her.
Stalker and Selena went outside. "Alright. Let's try and find them." He nodded. "I think those are some guards." He noticed a couple by the building. "One's female. Maybe she'll have empathy for you?" Stalker said hopefully.
Seahorse shook her head, smiling at Flames. "You're totally fine," she responded, feeling guilty. "I'm sorry I just.... it was painful. It was my first laying. I didn't know what to expect." She dove back down into the water, carefully cradling her twin eggs. She grinned at them in awe. They were beautiful, shining and smooth.
Seahorse looked down at the two perfect, shining eggs. She had an odd thought, and it made her feel stupid. "I kind of want to make a nest in our cabin," she admitted sheepishly, looking up at Flames. "So that I can keep a watch on the eggs and still be with you. " She blinked, wanting to curl around the eggs and protect them forever and ever. Argh this mothering instinct feels so new and weird . She blinked, registering Flames's words. "If we are going to attempt what?"
"Er, you know." Flames rubbed his head awkwardly. "It's probably not gonna happen anyway..." He looked over his shoulder, then back down at Seahorse. "Never mind then." He didn't want her to end up getting hurt. Somewhere, deep inside, he actually cared about Seahorse. "We can. Make a nest in the cabin, sure. You tired? Hungry? I can get you something." Flames stood up to go.
Seahorse purred and flicked her tail at Flames. "You don't need to tire yourself because of me. " She blinked, then added," If you're ok with the nest in the cabin, I'll need some um... grass? " She realized, with a gulp, that she had no idea what she was supposed to do.
"Follow me," she said, turning and walking to the oak tree. There lay the light blue egg, you could see a shape inside, but it was like through misted glass. Deeper purple speckles flashed from the surface, seeming to glow in the dark. It was very large. "My sister will be here in a few days to pick it up."
Polarize whimpered. She tried to move away from River, but he held her fast. She looked away from him. "I-I thought you said..." She tried not to cry. It hurt. Blood dripped down the side of her snout.
Ang growled. "River, ethier you should stay here for the rest of your life, or, you go back now." River tilted his head to a side. "Ah..."
Dev gave a wicked smile. What could he say? Just a bit of blood and pain was alright... Ang would kill him, but it would be worth it. He was hungry for the show of blood. After she dealt with River, he would leave Polarize alone for some time.
Seahorse smiled warmly at Flames, then carefully gathered their eggs, walked slowly to their cabin, and placed them safely in the corner that she would sleep in. She nudged them there, not wanting to leave them, but followed Flames to help him gather blankets.
Ang stopped. "Dev... Dang it..." She jumped into the inner mind, landing on Dev, making him stop. "Hey!" Ang growled at him, as she took control of River's body. She gently did the same thing as Dev did to Polarize, but this time, it stopped the pain and bleeding. "He'll be back." She whispered. "If I hurt you, it's his fault."
(Dpn't worry. Dev will be back if you want him too later.)
Ang held her closer, but this time, it was more protectivley. "River won't tell you. I can't ethier. But if River hurts you, it isn't him. He would never hurt you. But Dev will." Her scales flashed into what she really looked like. A white Seawing, with golden phospors. She calmly shifted back into what River usually looked like. "Be careful, Polarize."
Seahorse accepted the blankets, gently moving her eggs and making a makeshift nest out of the soft blankets. She turned, picking up the eggs, then putting them into the nest softly. She curled around them, and they fit perfectly in the side of her body. The nest felt comfortable as well. She blinked at Flames. "Thank you," she said, wrapping her tail around the eggs. She studied them curiously.
One was a rose-color, with whorls of light orange and blue darting through it. The other one, a deep purple color, had a stripe of color similar to Flames's scales on the top of it. She purred softly, then tucked them into a tight corner and joined Flames. "They should be ok here," she said.
Polarize nodded. She was still crying, mostly silently. "W-why d-did-" she opened her eyes for a second, looking up at him, then closed them quickly. "Y-you said you wouldn't..." She tried not to cry anymore, but she couldn't stop.
"We need a plan... Bad." Stalker said, sitting next to her, squeezing her Talon. "And you'll have the egg soon..." He sighed with worry.
Polarize couldn't say anything. A lump was in her throat. She let River hold her close, it was comforting. She was so scared. She didn't want to get hurt. And... What if he did that to their dragonet? She cried more. (OOO AWESOME)
Flames shrugged. "You can set up the nest." He started to smile. "We can have some alone time." He said, grinning.
Stalker's eyes were wide with worry. He touched Selena. "Is it happening now?" He asked, his voice squeaking.
She curled protectively around the pale red and purple eggs, they were paler than her eye color, but otherwise the same. She was crying. It seemed Mousehunter didn't know, but the red one was cracked. More tears slipped down her face.
Flames kissed her back, passionately. With force. He kept her close. Seahorse...
"Woah." Stalker was a little nervous now. Would it go okay?
Polarize had the egg. It was mostly blue, but light, light red covered the top and part of the side of it. It faded to the different colors beautifully. Polarize set the egg on the blanket, which was shaped to mimic the egg. She touched River's Talon. She looked up at him. "Please, try and promise me this." She spoke.
LoveTheRain wrote: "Wha-Oh." Said Mouse as he realized one of his children was dead, he felt tears and put his wings around Void and his children, dead and alive.
She still tensed when he touched her, tears slipping silently down her face. It was for the best. She told herself. If they die then DeathWing hybrids won't be around, and there will be no evidence of my disloyalty of Shattered Soul.
"River, I want you to promise me you won't ever hurt her. Ever let him hurt her." She looked down at the egg. She hoped that she, their dragonet, would be okay. "That you'll try?" She looked back up at him.
Flames kissed her again. She was his. He pulled away a little, but kept her in a tight hug. "Mmm, Seahorse."
"Crap, I have no idea... Goldwater?" Flames shrugged. "If it's a girl. Uh, no, maybe not. Wavebreak. Uh." He sighed. "I'm just coming up with random things... Imbris. Er... I don't know. I'll think." Flames squeezed Seahorse's shoulder, and smiled.
Alex shrugged. "Well, she is my friend. And she should know how to slip the egg. Probably has a plan."
River let out a sigh. He gently laid her on the bed. He had stuff to do. As she slept, he left the cabin. Little did he know, a small spirt had stayed behind, silently watching Polarize. He blinked, and he changed back to his full form. A black Seawing, with red phospors. "Soon..." He murmered before turning back and disappearing.
(It's a year, but let's just timeskip let's say, six months. That way, our messenger has time to get Glacier , and she has time to come here. this afternoon she will come.)
Frost Lily smiled, her eyes wet. "it's true. Two dragonets in one egg."
(Uh, if this is the timeskip.)
Frost Lily looked at the sea anxiously. She had given the guards the fake eggshells, pretended to sob, and trudged back here. The messenger had come and said her sister was almost here. flicker was beside her, and another couple as well. They had wanted their child /children to be safe as well.
Seahorse was sleeping next to Flames on their tiny bed in the cabin, the eggs safely in their nest. They wouldn't hatch for another three months. His scales were warm and familiar, and she began to purr.
(I'm cool with a time skip for Polarize, Midnight, and Stalker)
Flames stroked Seahorse's shoulder. He's grown closer to her in the past months, and now...now he really, really, Really cared for her. Really. Her scales were familiar (stealing again, sigh), and she was good. Her whole everything meant the world to him.
(Skipping for Midnight)
Midnight smiled at Alex. She squeezed his Talon. "Together forever, right?"
Seahorse opened her sea-green eyes, blurrily, then blinked them shut again. She was so warm next to Flames, but she was also hungry. She raised her head slowly, watching her eggs out of the corner of her eyes. Three more moons. Then, they would hatch. Then, she assumed, she and Flames could leave. Without the eggs, her mind whispered, and she stifled a sigh. We can always have more. She looked up warmly at Flames.
Frost Lily looked at the sea, willing for her sister's scales to appear. Would she come? The egg was hatching in four months. She wanted it off the island before then. She sighed. "Flicker, don't you think it's stupid that they are keeping us on this island even though they know out egg has 'cracked'"
"Breaker, perhaps? Maybe that could be part of something? I'm not to sure." Stalker put his talon over Selena's. "We can find a way, Selena. Somehow." (Ready to skip)
(Polarize has skipped as well)
(No idea what to post though)
Flames smiled at Seahorse. "Let's get something to eat." He said. He knew she was probably thinking about the eggs, but he didn't want to try and get them out. Too dangerous, for all of them. Better for him and Seahorse to be together and safe, right?
Frost Lily started as white scales rose up from the water. Glacier Lotus spoke. "Hey little sis, how's it going! I see you have settled down, finally!" she nudged Flicker. " lucky to get her, but take care of her, will you? "
Frost Lily leaned over into a hug. "So, where's the little one?" Said Glacier.
Frost Lily smiled and showed her the egg. "Its twins."
glacier smiled. "Its beautiful! Lucky me, taking care of a beauty like this. And what about you two, have you been getting busy?'
The ploy had worked. The guards had found the eggshells, and six months later the egg was doing just fine. Void had distanced herself from Mousehunter, though she didn't like it, she convinced herself it was for the best.

While Void had been taking care of the egg, Mouse had distracted himself with what he did best, hunting. Each day, he caught a total of 2 eagles, 3 squirrels, a wolf and some fish. Mouse often worried about the egg and Void but they seemed to be doing alright even though Mouse wanted to hold them
"Uh, yeah." Stalker said. It was kinda weird for her to say that... Anyway. He coughed. *ahem* "Yeah."
Flames brought her over to the picnicky area. He sat down, pulling her close with his wing. There was a variety of meats in the new basket, (Chopped, anyone?) and a weird gummy type thing. "Let's eat." He smiled. Everything would be great.
Seahorse put the gummy in her mouth, then spat it out. It tasted like pineapple, but also like bananas and papayas. She stuck another piece of deer in her mouth. "BLEH. FRUIT." She flicked her tongue out, trying to get rid of the taste.
Flames spat it out. "Disgusting." He hissed, shoving some different kinds of meat in his mouth. "Bad idea." He shrugged after a few seconds of chewing. He smiled though. It was funny. He chuckled a bit.
Flames glanced down at Seahorse with a smile. He led her down a path. Everything would be perfect. They wouldn't even have to worry about getting hurt cause of tricking the guards. It would be great.
Up the side of a hill they went, and the view was beautiful.
Seahorse watched the sparkling ocean below them. It was a beautiful view, and Seahorse smiled and leaned into Flames gently. His orange-red scales shined in the sunlight next to her blue scales, a perfect complimentary match.
Below that hill, an oak tree stood, and behind that oak tree, we're five dragons. A white huge dragoness gently slipped a pale blue egg into the pouch on her shoulders, and held out her arms for another egg, this time from a different couple. this dragon was Glacier Lotus, and she was to ferry the eggs to the rainforest. Gloery had let her subjects to to the program of they wished, but she wouldn't accept this torture. Glacier would hide the eggs and tell the queen. Then, in one month, the guards were going to release the parents.
(7 months, then they would release them. It has been six of those seven, rigjt?)
Frost Lily trudged back to line with the eggshells in her talons. She pretended to sob, with Flicker comforting her. She handed in the shells.
Glacier Lotus held the two eggs close. She had a long way to go, and flew the eggs to the rainforest. She was flying over the ocean currently, the island out of sight. Nobody could see her with the thick mist, and the eggs were warm against her chest, each in the soft woven sack.
Seahorse gently placed the egg down, then backed away from it openly. Drown your emotions. No one cares. She had a blank, emotionless face. What did she expect, to keep the eggs? They were going to take them in the end, to be tested on anyway. She watched as Flames set the other egg down, the folded her wings against her side and waited for him.
"Right, right." Stalker murmured in agreement. Maybe Glacier Lotus would keep their egg safe... (They gave it to her, remember?) he nodded. "Let's go, Selena."
Flames came over to Seahorse. He pulled a wing around her, pulling her close to him. No tears, he wasn't sad, really. He was a little sad that she seemed a little sad, but he himself was fine. Yeah. "Seahorse, we can leave soon." He said, a smile twinging onto his face. They would be together. That's what mattered.
Glacier hid the sachel with the eggs underneath a pile of moss, inside of a mountain cave. She had spotted a wing of skywings, their flame colored scales flashing in the sunlight. She changed her body to the murkiest color possible, and hid in the cave next to the eggs. Hopefully they wouldn't see her. If they did, they would have no way of knowing she was carrying stowaway eggs from a program. She anxiously watched above her, seeing the last of the shapes fly by.
Stalker held onto her talon, trying to keep his steady. "Let's go rest somewhere. Everything will be alright, Selena" he nodded. God, take care of our egg. He looked up at the sky. Do what ever you wish to me, but don't let harm come to Selena or my dragonet, please.
Glacier Lotus let out a breath she hadnt known she was holding. She picked up the sachel carefully, and put it back on her chest. The brown pack still contained the two eggs, safe and uncracked. She carefully did an inspection to make sure they weren't cracked. Thankfully they weren't, and she wrapped her front legs around the sachel, hiding the whitish cloth from view. She changed her scales to the bluest she could manage with her icewing-modified scales, and flew in slowly.
Frost Lily looked at the sky. "I hope glacier is being careful".
Selena held Stalker's talon as she walked to the cabin, but her thoughts lay elsewhere. The image of their egg kept coming up in her mind. She knew it would be kept safe, but what kind of safe? Would her dragonet have to live in a life of experiments and prison?
She opened the door of the cabin, and sat on one of the beds. She took a quick glance to the empty third nest, on the verge of tears.
Stalker wrapped his wings around Selena. He was trying to stay calm, but it was hard. Maybe things would be okay...but...but what if it wasn't... He shook his head. He'd hope. That was all he could do.
Selena nodded. She smiled slightly, even in her tears. "You can't really do anything right now, but thanks." She curled up in Stalker's lap. Right now she wanted to do nothing, just stay there forever in Stalker's warm arms.
