Pine[]
Pine is a male LeafWing-IceWing hybrid and the main protagonist of Imprisoned in the Ice Kingdom. Formerly residing in a LeafWing village, then a resident of the IceWing Palace, he now lives on an island off the coast of the Leaf Kingdom with his half-sister Stardew, his best friend Starseer, and his pet snow leopard, Wisp. He is an IceWing prince and was formerly a member of the First Circle.
Appearance[]
Pine's scales are a blue-green hue and his wings and underbelly are a lighter shade. His spikes are the same color, and his eyes are the deep blue of a sky at night. He has LeafWing-like spots that are a washed-out teal color. He has an IceWing's spikes and whip tail, and his front claws are serrated like an IceWing's, but his back claws, body shape and wings are more akin to his mother's tribe. His scales radiate cold like an IceWing's, and are sleek and shiny. His coloring helps him hide in certain evergreens.
Personality[]
Pine is an introverted dragon, and dislikes interacting with those he does not consider friends. He is untrustworthy and hard to insult, and great at roasting others (no pun intended). He is very protective of those he cares about and loves the natural world. He doesn't like being disadvantaged in any way, and prefers his advantages to be small and secret. He also has a pet snow leopard called Wisp.
Skills[]
Pine has unusually powerful leafspeak the he uses for fighting as well as hunting. He is an adept fighter in the air and on the ground, as well as being an amazing hunter. Animals tend to be more trusting of him than other dragons, and he is excellent at handling all kinds of creatures. He is also a very skilled artist and storyteller/writer.
History[]
Pine hatched in the Leaf Kingdom in a small treehouse. He grew up with his mother and when he was one, Ginkgo left him in the care of the village and flew off, coming back a year later with his younger half-sister, Stardew. The pair first hated each other for fear that the other one was getting more love from their mother, but within two weeks they were thick as thieves. The LeafWings treated the dragonets as they would any other tribe member, but Ginkgo died due to an illness when Pine was four and Stardew was three
Pine's father, Beluga got word and brought Pine to the Ice Kingdom, leaving Stardew by herself. In the Ice Kingdom, Pine loved the cold and revealed his affinity for hunting. His best friend in the Ice Kingdom was DiamondDust, his cousin. He also found an abandoned snow leopard cub, whom he adopted and named Wisp. Pine loved the Ice Kingdom for its landscape, but absolutely despised the rules and expectations set for him. Beluga, being the son of Queen Khione, was very strict and orderly, a fact which Pine disliked about his father. Pine was not prosecuted for being half LeafWing, but he still could not abide the strict order and laws of the Ice Kingdom.
After Beluga was drowned by an orca pod, the only reason Pine stayed in the Ice Kingdom had gone. He was about to leave when Queen Khione tricked DiamondDust to give Pine a "parting gift", a ring which was enchanted by her to want him to stay in the Ice Kingdom forever. Eventually Pine overcame the spell and escaped back to the Leaf Kingdom, and when he saw that Stardew was being prosecuted by the new Queen, Pine took her to an island off the coast of the Leaf Kingdom, where they live now.
One day, DiamondDust appeared in the Leaf Kingdom, saying she wanted to apologize to him for the ring. She revealed that Queen Khione had tricked her into making the ring, and that she was truly sorry for doing the spell. She left shortly afterwards.
