Appearance[]

Crete is a young male Seawing around 15 dragon years old. He's small for his age, is a translucent seafoam color, with azure bioluminescent lights and teal horns. His scales are relatively hard and abrasive. He has a small, barely noticeable tar in one his gills, resulting in a sight wheeze in his voice.

Personality[]

Crete is a solitary dragon, living alone on his own personal island(no he didn't bu silly, he washed up on it and just decided to stay). He can leave, but prefers the company of local animals and the sea to that of dragons. He hates noise and outside contact, and has tried to keep his island from being found. It's so small, it can't be seen on the map of the kingdom, as its on the far side of the archipelago. To keep intruders away, he creates mini earthquakes by blowing a large horn that also sounds like a roar, giving the impression of a large dragon-eating monster, the "Dracophage". He's painted the walls of a sea-facing cliff with false images of a terrifying monster, with a Scavenger's face, a second mouth that breaths fire, the body of a Dragonbite Viper, scales like bronze, several insect like legs, and a knife-like tail, able to cut iron and leave slag behind from friction. This leads Crete to be painted as a trickster, but really he just wants to be left alone from everyone. Most of the kingdom is unaware of his existence, as he, and others who dare venture near his isle return horrified with stories of a crazed dragon who could control the Dracophage, eats his own kind, and is more powerful that any animus. In truth, Crete has no powers, and prefers to spend his days in a small temple ruin, reading scrolls, and eating fruits on the island like grapes and olive rather than fish.

History[]

Crete was born to two dragons, Aegean and Mediterranean, and for a time, had a normal childhood. His parents however, were killed in the war during the Summer Palace attack. Orphaned, and faced with being drafted into a war he hated, he embarked on an Odyssey/Exodus to find somewhere no one could find him. During a monsoon storm, he faked his own death using driftwood, and swam for open water, far away from even the outskirts of Seawing civilization. He eventually landed on this home island, which he named, Telemachus(Far from War), and began to settle. He found ancient ruins of an ancient civilization of Seawings, murals, pottery, fishing nets, scrolls, cowrie shell jewelry, and vineyards of a plant he named "Seaberries". After some time alone, Seawings began taking interest in the island, as many set out to find new islands for the Kingdom. Thankfully, due to Crete's efforts, the island is still uncharted, not on any map, and is believed to be cursed, uninhabited, or, in the most extreme cases, nonexistent.
